From last seeing her as the co-star on Spider-man: Homecoming, Zendaya has been off the radar preparing us for not just one, but two new roles.
In theaters on December 20, 2017, The Greatest Showman is based on a true story of P.T. Barnum, the founder of the Barnum & Bailey Circus. The story details the trigger moment that launched the idea of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and actually witnessing that idea come to life.
Zendaya plays a trapeze artist named Anne, in which she insisted on completing her own stunts throughout the production of the film with the help of skills learned from an aerial boot camp she took it upon herself to enroll in.
The Greatest Showman is directed by Michael Gracey with the Academy Award winning lyricists of La La Land.
In addition to The Greatest Showman, Zendaya will be starring in an upcoming film titled A White Lie centered around the story of the first African American woman to graduate from Vassar College. Due to her light skin complexion she was able to pass as white until her roommate and her roommate’s father went investigating Anita’s background to find out she was in fact, African American.
No set release date has been confirmed for A White Lie but we’ll be looking forward to seeing her on the big screen next month.
