Maualuga was booked at the Turner Guildford Knight Correction Center early Saturday morning. Reports say the football player was confronted by an employee ofE11ven nightclub regarding the unpaid tab. Allegedly, Maualuga’s refusal to pay the bill caused an argument between the two. The linebacker is accused of grabbing the employee by the throat and shoving him away. Security was called and escorted Maualuga out of the club, which is when the cops detained and arrested him. His bond was set at $1,500, and he has since been released.

The Dolphins signed Maualuga, to a one-year deal in August, during training camp after eight years of playing for the Bengals. According to the official NFL website, Maualuga had 23 tackles for the Dolphins this season in six games, four of the games he started.
