The Filipino boxing icon hinted at a possible fight between him and McGregor in the caption of an Instagram post that he directed at the Irishman, telling him to “stay fit.” One of the hashtags used teased the possibility that the two would come together for a bout in 2018, though no more details were given by either man.

Pacquiao, 38, ended a brief retirement last year to embark on what appears to be one last run in his storied fighting career. He defeated Jessie Vargas in November 2016 before being upset by the unheralded Jeff Horn this past July. Neither bout came close to matching Pacquiao’s past pay-per-view success (the Horn match was actually broadcast live on ESPN, where it drew strong viewership numbers), so a crossover bout with “The Notorious” could be just what Pacquiao is looking for to close out his career with a bang.

The Notorious is widely expected to return to UFC, but again, nothing official has been announced. Why go back to UFC , when you can cash in on another nice payday from boxing.
