Dressed in green for the holiday season, Cardi B made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night, and it was a night to remember. The “Bodak Yellow” star kept Jimmy Fallon and the audience in stitches with her ad-libs and sound effects throughout the hilarious interview.
She first explained the origin of her name:
You know what, my sister name is Hennessy, so everybody used to call me Bacardi. So I always call myself Bacardi, and then it was my Instagram name, Bacardi, Bacardi B, but for some reason, my Instagram kept getting deleted. And I think it was Bacardi that had something to do with it. So I just shortened it to Cardi B.
The Bronx rapper discussed a plethora of other topics including her recent engagement to Migos star, Offset, the success of her triple-platinum hit, being grammy-nominated, and why she isn’t buying any Christmas gifts for adults this year. Cardi also touched base on her highly-anticipated new single “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage, set to release this Friday. “I named it Bartier Cardi because I don’t want Cartier to sue me, featuring 21 Savage okay. Y’all go get that, it’s poppin'”.
