It has been rumored for a while that the collaboration between Taraji and Singleton was likely to happen. The project was first mentioned in a February 2017 Vanity Fair round- up of other Till- centric projects in the works. In the film, Henson will portray Mamie Till- Mobley who famously chose to give her son, Emmett an open casket funeral after he was lynched by J.W. Milam and Roy Bryant. Photographic evidence of the violence that the White supremacists inflicted on African Americans were published and shared world wide from Jet magazine and The Chicago Reader.

This is huge for Taraji; with her huge success from shows and movies like Empire, Think Like a Man, and Hidden Figures. This next project is sure to get the public’s interest as audiences prepare to see her in her latest project, Proud Mary.
