The Bronx femcee became the first female artist since Lauryn Hill, to top the Hot 100 charts, without a feature. She scored 3 songs in the top 10 simultaneously. She made the cover of a number of renowned magazine, as a result of her rise to fame. To start the new year, she was featured on the In Living Color themed, Bruno Mars’ “Finesse Remix.”
Her winning streak will continue as she joined another polarizing female figure of our lifetime. According to Billboard, Cardi B and Beyonce are the only two female artists to have four songs score in the Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs Charts at the same time. G-Eazy’s “No Limit” sits at number 2, Migos’ “Motorsport” follows after. “Bodak Yellow” sits at number 5, while her latest single “Bartier Cardi” sits at number 9.
Beyonce accomplished the feat in 2016 with songs from her Lemonade album. This included “Sorry,” “Formation,” “Hold Up,” and “6 inch,” featuring the weekend.
The two time Grammy nominated artist, joins a list of other accomplished rappers to achieve the same feat in the past. This list includes Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and 2 Chainz. When one are mentioned in the same breath as the artists above, you are doing something right.
