Kobe Bryant is teaming up with ESPN for a new show called Detail. The show will be a basketball analysis show written, produced, and hosted by the GOAT himself.

The ESPN press release reads, “In Detail, viewers will experience unparalleled game observations from Bryant as if he were one of the players featured in an ESPN game played the day before. As one of this generation’s leading basketball minds, Bryant will provide a perspective aimed at helping young athletes, players and coaches see the game in a different way.”

This is a huge power move by the Disney-owned sports network. The show is expected to launch in March after all star weekend and a month before the NBA playoffs begin. KB24 took to Twitter to announce the Granity Studios-produced show.

ESPN announced that Detail will have 15 episodes, and will conclude during the NBA Finals. Kobe will give viewers specifically young athletes and current NBA players a “deeper” analysis from a 20-year veteran star.

“Having an all-time great like Kobe share the same analysis he offers current players will be a tutorial for elite athletes around the world and the ultimate inside access for viewers,” says Kevin Wildes, ESPN vice president in the ESPN press release.

The future Hall-of-Famer returned to Staples Center in December and became the first NBA athlete to have two jerseys retired – his number 8 jersey from the first half of his NBA career and number 24 from the second half of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kobe helped bring five championships to the city during his 20 season career. As arguably one of the top three players in NBA History, Kobe’s insight and analysis in his new show is sure to make a big impact when the show airs in March.
