Remy has been on a tear since being released from prison in 2014. The “Whateva” rapper has been prepping her new album ever since the release of her joint album with Fat Joe, Plata O Plomo which gave us the platinum hit song “All the Way Up.”

While working on her music, Remy also took a shot at reality TV for Vh1’s Love and Hip Hop New York. The rapper admitted on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club that she pursued the opportunity to get back into the spotlight and show a different, more decent side of herself that the industry hadn’t saw before serving six years in prison for assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion.

Along with having an irresistible hit song in “All the way up” Remy proved her lyrical dominance over fellow female MC and top competitor Nicki Minaj. After back and forth subliminal disses (allegedly) Remy went directly at the Queens born rapper in a freestyle over Nas’ “Ether” which originally was a legendary diss track against Jay-Z. Remy also released a follow up titled, “Another One” before Minaj finally shot back with a response on “No Frauds” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne. Despite getting the last word, the general consensus is that Remy won the lyrical war.

If that wasn’t enough, Remy took the crown at the BET Awards last year where Remy won Best Female Artist, an award the Nicki Minaj had won consistently for seven years.

With Remy seeming to be in a good position to release an album with a lot of attention on it, there is not yet a release date for her next project. Following Friday’s release, fans could find out soon if Remy does have a 2018 date for the album.
