The network’s newest DC series, Black Lightning, debuted to 2.3 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in adults 18-49 (Live+same day). It held 100% of its The Flash lead-in in both 18-49 and 18-34 (0.6). The show had an impressive debut Tuesday night for The CW, becoming the biggest debut for the network in two years and the biggest debut for the 9 p.m. time slot for the network in three years, aside from The Legends of Tomorrow crossover. Based on the characters from D.C., Black Lightning is from Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Salim Akil & Mara Brock Akil and Sarah Schechter. The Black Lightning character was created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden. Network executives will soon learn that when you create content for the culture, the culture will support in high masses.
