Following the arrest, Rodman’s agent, Darren Prince told The Associated Press that he checked himself into Turning Point Rehabilitation Center in Paterson, New Jersey on Wednesday, Jan. 17th in order to deal with his longtime struggle with alcoholism.

The former member of the Chicago Bulls was arrested late Saturday in Southern California for suspicion of DUI after being pulled over for a traffic violation. Reports from the Newport Beach police said that he failed a series of breath tests and field sobriety. Rodman is no stranger to Turning Point’s Rehabilitation Center, being that this will be his second time in rehab. In 2014 he spent three weeks after returning from North Korea, where he organized a basketball game which involved retired NBA players for North Korea leader Kim Jong Un.

Rodman said that he needed to decompress from his trip.
