XXXtentacion and Joey Badass might have a project in the works.  On his Instagram story, the “Jocelyn Flores” rapper said, “xxxtentacion X joey badass collaboration tape” in white text with a black background.

This post comes out of nowhere but it seems XXXtentacion who promised three albums in 2018, has either had a conversation with Joey or is working on getting the Brooklyn MCs attention to collaborate on something. The one connection the two do have is that XXXtentacion performed at Pro Era’s Annual Steez Day, a performance honoring the late Pro Era rapper Capital Steez who died in December 2012.

Joey Badass has not yet fueled these rumors.  He is still celebrating his 23rd birthday this past Friday.  We are anxiously anticipating a response from Joey in the near future. For now, the Pro Era rapper is dropping new birthday music in the form of a song with Dessy Hinds titled “King to a God.” The track was released on Joey’s official Soundcloud.

Joey released his All-Amerikkkan album in April selling 50,000 copies in the first week. The Kirk Knight produced single “Devastated” is certified Platinum by the RIAA.  XXXtentacion is a platinum artist as well with his “Jocelyn Flores” track from the album 17 recently going platinum being his second platinum plaque he can hang on the wall next to the track, “Look At Me.”

It would be good Joey Badass, who is two years the South Florida rapper’s senior, do some work together having shared similar experiences in life. Both artists lost a close friend to suicide with Joey losing Capital Steez in 2012 and X losing Jocelyn Flores, who the platinum track is named after. Both artists love to address current events and social issues in their music and could make for good chemistry on a project.
