Royce Da 5’9 is a veteran emcee who has fortunately managed to make his presence known in the era of new school hip-hop with the deed of his duo project PRhyme with the great DJ Premier along with the success of his sixth studio album, Layers, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart back in 2015. Now, the Detroit emcee is rightfully closing the gap even more by joining forces with the modern day people’s choice of a rapper J. Cole.

Last July, the Royce shared flicks of him and Cole at studio in Detroit, Heaven Studios on Instagram and it was apparent that the two were musically involved with one another. HotNewHipHop recently captured a video of what appears to be both Cole and Royce on the set of a music video where the two are stationed in front of a carnival setting, in rapping stance, followed by a flick, in courtesy of Grammy award winning producer S1.

There is no telling if the two have made a collaborative, album, mixtape, or a simple single. This is just a wild tease for true hip-hop heads who did not see the meeting of these great minds coming to fruition. Until the two lyricists go any further, the masses shall stay on stand by.

Last November, in an interview, DJ Premier declared the completion of the highly anticipated sequel to the duo’s debut, PRhyme 2, which reportedly has a release date slated for March 16. PRhyme plans on revealing the cover art, track list and featured appearances in the first week of February, which is fairly soon. Be on the lookout.
