For those who don’t remember, or weren’t aware, the XFL was a short-lived “Extreme” American football league, between 2001 and 2002, created by Vince McMahon.

This new incarnation, however, will not feature any crossovers with WWE talent. It will remain a separate entity comprised, conservatively at first, of 8 teams, 40-man rosters, and a 10-game season. McMahon promised “shorter, faster-paced, family-friendly games” that represented “professional football re-iminagined.”
