Reports have been going around that Justin Timberlake may be bringing a hologram form of Prince out during his Super Bowl half time performance. Sheila E., who is a respected musician and close friend of Prince, has spoken out, revealing “Prince told me don’t ever let anyone do a hologram of me,” she wrote in Twitter. “Not cool if this happens!”

There is also evidence of Prince going on record to refute holograms and similar technologies that have brought the dead back on stage. In an old Guitar World Interview, Prince was asked, “With digital editing, it is now possible to create a situation where you could jam with an artists from the past. Would you ever consider doing something like that?”

In which he replied, “Certainly not, that’s the most demonic thing imaginable. Everything is as it is, and should be. If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age. That whole virtual reality thing…it really is demonic. And I am not a demon. Also what they did with that Beatles song “Free As A Bird, manipulating John Lennon’s voice to have him singing from the grave…. that’ll never happen to me.”

Justin Timberlake has been a justifiable fan of Prince and has even spent time with the legend. The concept behind the tribute probably stems from the fact that the super bowl is being played in Prince’s hometown but hopefully Justin gets the message and lets the legend rest in peace.
