On Monday, Donald Trump Jr.’s wife, Vanessa Trump, 40, was taken to New York- Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center after opening a package that was sent to her home. This package contained an unknown white powder, according to authorities.
The letter was postmarked from Boston and was addressed to Trump Jr. It contained a note indicating the sender was angry, a source told ABC News. After she opened the letter, Vanessa Trump notified police officials immediately. Emergency medical services, firefighters, and police showed up just after 10:00 a.m., said police. Mrs. Trump realized something was wrong after she began feeling dizzy. Vanessa and two other people in their apartment were decontaminated by firefighters at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
According to NYPD Assistant Commissioner J. Peter Donald, “The substance was deemed to be non- hazardous and is being transported to a lab in New York City for further analysis. This anonymous letter is under investigation by The U.S. Secret Service as well.
“The Secret Service and our law enforcement partners in New York City are investigating a suspicious package addressed to one of our protectees received today in New York, New York. This is an active investigation and we cannot comment any further,” the Secret Service said in a statement.
A special thanks today to the great men & women of the @NYPDnews @FDNY @SecretService @NewYorkFBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force for their decisive action and incredible words of support to my wife and family. Their professionalism under pressure made a rough day manageable.

Thinking of @MrsVanessaTrump & wishing I was by her side today. No one deserves to be frightened this way. There is no excuse.
