Earlier this morning, Forbes rolled out their list for the Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2018 list. And for the first time since Forbes began measuring the net worth of hip-hop artists in 2011, JAY-Z takes the number one spot with a jaw-dropping net-worth of $900 million.

According to Forbes, JAY-Z, who elevated from $810 million in 2017 to $900 million, reached nearly a billion primarily due to his stakes in Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac. He and his mega-star wife Beyonce, also splurged $26 million on a home in the Hamptons and $88 million on a mansion in Bel Air.

Following closely behind HOV is brother love, aka Diddy, with a net worth of $825 million. Diddy garnered his near billionaire status from his multiple business ventures including his Ciroc Vodka deal, Revolt TV, and the growth of his DeLeon Tequila brand. Last year, Forbes named Diddy as the highest paid musician of 2017 with $130 million in earnings, and topped the Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2017 list with $820 million.

Dr. Dre, Drake, and Eminem also join the two moguls on the Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2018 list. Dr. Dre lands as number three with $770 Million, and Drake and Eminem tie at $100 million. View the list in its entirety here.
