When The Lox dropped “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa,” the world should have known (that despite his untimely demise) rap’s favorite son would not be removed from our psyche. Biggie just was the industry’s fave.
However before the Versace glasses and silk shirts, The Notorious B.I.G. was in the streets hustling.
And sometimes, hustling lands you in the clink.
Biggie eventually found himself knocked and booked. The mugshot from that booking has become quite valuable for one fan.
BIG’s mugshot is currently being sold for $36 thousand dollars on Moments In Time go-to auction. The mugshot dates back sometime between 1994 and 1995 after a run-in with the law at a night club in New Jersey. Apparently when BIG was taken to a county jail for booking, an officer reportedly asked the rapper for his autograph, and expressed to the rapper that his little sister Megan was a fan. Big complied, kindly blessing the fan with a mugshot and personalized note.
The note said, “To: Megan, Much Love, ‘Thanks 4 the phone call B.I.G.” While this may be a surprise to many, this isn’t the first time a Notorious B.I.G. item has been up for sale. The SUV that the rapper was murdered in in 1997 was sold for 1.5 million on the same platform, Moments In Time.
