Fans of the Teri Woods’ novel inspired film True to The Game will be disappointed to hear that a sequel may not be in the works. Lead actor in the film, Columbus Short, revealed on Tuesday that he has not been paid for his work on the film and is blaming Imani Media Group CEO Manny Halley and his wife for the lack of payment. Halley has not responded to Short’s comments.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Short calls Halley a “crook” and urges him to pay up.

“It is not fair to anyone who worked on the film, to not be compensated for their contribution to the film. We all worked very hard and yet I RECIEVED ZERO DOLLARS FOR MY WORK IN THIS MOVIE,” Short wrote on the photo-sharing app.

“I did it for the culture and the Art, trusting I would be taken care of on the back end. But no he ran off with the bag eating lobster dinners every night, driving around in a Maybach like he don’t owe nobody nothing.”

The former Scandal actor says “big bro” Dame Dash is his inspiration for going public with the accusations. Dame Dash seemingly correctly claimed that Oscar-winning director Lee Daniels owes the Roc-A-Fella founder $2 million for jump-starting his film career which led to the production of the hit film Precious in 2009.

Dame Dash was recently seen on camera confronting Daniels over the owed money to which the Empire creator admits that he was wrong for not paying. Dash voiced his issues via Instagram on Tuesday after news broke that he filed a lawsuit against Daniels for $5 million.

“Why does this dude feel like he doesn’t have to pay me?…why do I have to look crazy to get my money back…or go to court,” Dame wrote in part of his Instagram caption along with the video of the confrontation.

Dame’s breach of contract lawsuit also demands Executive Producer credits on the upcoming Richard Pryor film that Daniels is reportedly writing, directing and producing.

I straight up loaned this dude Lee Daniels @theoriginalbigdaddy 2 million to pay for his dream of being a director…it was the money I was using to fund my movies and stay Indy…he promised I get my money back in months…then he makes precious and goes missing so he doesn’t have to pay me…then then Butler…empire…same shit Why does this dude feel like he doesn’t have to pay me?…why do I have to look crazy to get my money back…or go to court…ask @theoriginalbigdaddy why he doesn’t feel like he has to pay me even though he has it…what type of shit is this.. #paywhatyouowe I’m going to put this whole thing on my ig tv in a few… true definition of a culture vulture @culturevultures_book …eats off the culture but Robs the culture at the same time… see you back in court Lee your gonna pay me what you owe…please everyone ask him way he doesn’t think he has to pay me… @tmz_tv @vanlathan @theshaderoom @deadline @worldstar @voguemagazine @people @pagesix @oprah @halleberry
