This past weekend, Vloggers everywhere were celebrated to the max. Short-form, long-form, comedy, music, informational and educational… whatever niche you can name, they were at this year’s online video fanfest, VidCon. VidCon brings creatives of all ages together in efforts to learn more about YouTube as a medium and to explore new and innovative ways of curating content.
The Source enlisted singer and songwriter, Kyla Imani to cover the attractions and activations accessible to the public inside of this expo. One activation of particular interested was sponsored by kid entertainment god, Nickelodeon. A simulation of the set of their hit TV show, Double Dare, drew crowds from near and wide. As fans of the show were encouraged to run through the obstacle courses masterfully designed the Nick team, others participated in real life students and got slimed by the neon green goo associated with all of the networks big game shows and awards.
Also taking place inside the expo were panels with several YouTube creators, MTV Crib exhibits with interactive TVs and Instagram interactive stations. Brands set up campaigns that were bright and entertaining. Our hosts showcased her personal faves Cannon cameras, Rode mics and can’t wait to see shows like, World of Dance. Also inside the expo Facebook and Huda Kattan partnered for the ultimate beauty experience. Over 200 girls lined up to get beauty gift bags with must have beauty essentials.
The outside of the expo was equally amazing with the Awesomeness stage. This stage was surrounded by you guessed it… awesomeness! Ferris wheels and carnival vibes were throughout the outdoor area of the expo. The performances also lift the atmosphere even higher.
