Scorpion season has officially arrived as fans have finally received Drake’s fifth studio album. It’s safe to say the Toronto native is giving fans his most honest self. On the tail end of side A, he addresses his secret son as well as the mother of his child.

However, no one expected him to address Cash Money Records. The house Lil Wayne helped build, the house Drizzy virtually remodeled since signing in 2009 but now he may soon be moving on something bigger.

On the tail end of side B, “Is There More” shows the rapper has set his sights beyond the label. Interestingly, he seems to rejoice in a newfound sense of freedom. “Yeah, soon as this album drop I’m out of the deal. In the house playin’ D’Angelo, ‘How Does It Feel?‘” With that being said, could this be Drake’s final release on Cash Money?

He has always been vocal in his support of  Weezy during his fallout with the label which ended with Universal Music Group cutting a big check for Wayne.

Keep in mind, there were talks of Drizzy leaving the label a year ago, following the release of More Life. He is working diligently to complete his contracted album requirements with the label. Even projects such as  If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, counted as an album.

All things considered, the six God is in prime position to take control of his own destiny if, in fact, Scorpion is his last Cash Money release.

Given his Warner Bros.-distributed OVO Sound imprint and a partnership with Apple Music, Drake will be okay without Cash Money Records.
