What a time to be alive. June 2018 has been a productive month for Hip-Hop. Already, fans have seen new albums from Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Nas, as well as Jay-Z and Beyoncé, but Drake has grabbed the world’s attention following the release of his fifth album Scorpion. With two sides, and 25 tracks there’s a lot to unpack. Appearances from Michael Jackson, Ty Dolla $ign, Statik Major and Jay-Z are just a few of the album’s highlights.

Arguably the most anticipated release of the year, fans have been eager to hear Drizzy’s side of the story. Pusha T told the “The Story Of Adidon” spreading the word of Drake’s secret son. We thought we would hear a response but instead, we got the truth.

The truth is, Drake is indeed a father. On the outro track of disk two, “March 14” we listen as the Toronto rapper changes “from a boy to man.” Embracing fatherhood he comes to terms with his son. Further detailing a turbulent relationship with the child’s mother, drawing comparisons to his own parents he never wanted to “co-parent.””

“Yesterday morning was crazy
I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe
That shit is in stone, sealed and signed
She not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine

Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time
And all it took was one time

Guess Pusha was right to wish Drizzy a Happy Father’s Day after all. Although he embraces fatherhood, he despises being a “single father.”

“I’m out here on front lines
Just tryin’ to make sure that I see him sometimes

It’s breakin’ my spirit
Single father, I hate when I hear it
I used to challenge my parents on every album
Now I’m embarrassed to tell ’em I ended up as a co-parent”

Released last night, you can stream Scorpion on Apple Music.
