The run of Cardi B is far from over. Her latest achievement takes her back to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 as her single “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin passes by the posthumous push of XXXTentacion to claim the number one spot.
The chart-topping single makes Cardi B the first female rapper to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 twice. Her first single to do so was her banger form last year “Bodak Yellow” that owned the chart for a three week period in October.
The number one record is the first time that Bad Bunny and J Balvin have found thesmelves at the top of the charts.
Other female rappers who happen to take the top spot on the charts include Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (that Thing)”, Lil Kim for her work on “Lady Marmalade,” Shawnna for assisting on Ludacris’ “Stand Up” and Iggy Azalea for her breakout hit “Fancy.” Cardi B is the first artist to have two number ones from a debut album since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ The Heist and the first solo artist to do so since her tourmate Bruno Mars and his Doo-Wops & Hooligans album dropped off two chart toppers.
XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” has dropped to number two after rocketing up the charts last week. “Lucid Dreams” from Juice WRLD lands at number three before Cardi B finds herself at number four with her feature on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You single.” Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Psycho” round out the top five.
