The so-called “Kelvin Timeline’s” Enterprise crew, portrayed by young actors like Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana, may be set to appear in an R-rated Star Trek movie from director Quentin Tarantino. At least, that’s what Quinto seems to think, as indicated in a recent interview.

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Quinto said, “My assumption is that it is with us. That is how it has been presented,” referring to Tarantino’s highly anticipated Trek project.

“You know, until deals are done and contracts are signed and schedules are cleared, nothing is set in stone, so anything can happen,” Quinto continued. “My understanding is Quentin had this idea and they were shaping it and forming it and he is off to do his Manson movie. And it would be after that, that we would go maybe do one with him. Which is pretty exciting, pretty cool.”

Upon the announcement of Tarantino’s bold new take on Trek, most fans assumed the film would be set in a separate timeline, with an entirely different cast from the 2009 reboot series. That may not be the case if Quinto’s latest comments turn out to be true.

In addition to Tarantino’s Trek, Star Trek 4, a sequel to 2016’s Star Trek Beyond, is also in development. Directed by SJ Clarkson, the film will most definitely bring back the likes of Pine, Quinto, Saldana and the rest of the gang.
