Toronto, Canada-based rapper Smoke Dawg was shot and killed in the city’s Entertainment District about 8pm last night, according to confirmed reports.
Two other people, a man and a woman, were both wounded and still listed in critical condition in the same shooting. The alleged suspects in the shooting left the scene of the murder in a black SUV or a white car.
Smoke Dawg is the third rapper in the past two weeks whose life has been taken by gunfire. Both Florida favorite XXXtentacion, murdered in South Florida and Jimmy Wopo, killed in Pittsburgh’s Middle Hill neighborhood, were shot and slain on June 18.
Smoke Dawg has appeared in songs with French Montana and was the opening act on Drake’s “Boy Meets World” tour in Europe. He also had an album set for release this year called Struggle Before Glory.
