Last night at the Eventim Apollo, Rev Run proved part of his wild side still remained as he proclaimed, “We got too many fucking hits.” However, some fans feel they didn’t get enough of those hits.

Returning to the UK for the first time since 2015, fans did appreciate their presence. UK-born legend Slick Rick set the tone, transporting fans through time with his witty rhymes as the opening act.

With Run DMC’s signature logos flashing on the arena screens fans cheered as they took the stage filled with energy. Breaking out into classics such as “It’s Like That” and “It’s Tricky.” The one-two punch delivery style could still bring fans to their feet.

In fact, their feet came out of their shoes, as they followed Run’s lead, holding up the famous three-striped sneaker while performing “My Adidas.” Interestingly, a signed fedora giveaway ensured fans could take a memory home.

Son of the late DJ Jam Master Jay also stepped up to the turntable showing off his impressive skills while paying tribute to his father.

After the tribute, Run DMC returned to the stage to deliver three more songs including,”Walk This Way” before promptly ending the show.

Craving more, fans begged for an encore performance while others even booed at the Hip Hop history lesson being cut short.
