When LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers many NBA fans huddled around Twitter waiting for #WojBombs to see who would join him. Many of which did not believe that it would be Lance Stephenson, a longtime LeBron opponent and one of the best high energy players in the entire league.

In a conference call with ESPN Lance detailed that he was on the receiving end of a phone call from LeBron’s representative requesting he sign with one of the NBA’s most storied franchises. Referring to it as “actually funny,” Lance also shared that he was surprised to see the legendary Cavs team bolt for Tinseltown.

Stephenson is aiming to bring his “Born Ready” demeanor to the court of Staples Center and said he was told to be the player the NBA has known him to be. “I actually talked to [head coach] Luke [Walton] and he basically told me he wanted me to be myself, bring that defensive edge, be a leader on and off the court for the young guys and just bring that focus of winning and coming to compete every night,” Stephenson shared.

For those who have caught the last few years of NBA basketball will remember the many battles of LeBron’s Cavs and Heat versus Lance’s Pacers. The two often wrestled for position on the court and Lance even once blew in King James’ ear. All of that appears to be water under the bridge now and the team is looking to win next season.
