Buzzfeed picked up the story of R. Kelly’s sexually abusive behavior and they’re turning it into a documentary. The company linked up with Hulu for the project and Vanity Fair reports the film will be based on Jim DeRogatis’ report on Kelly’s sexual cult.

DeRogatis’ story allowed people to peel off another layer when it comes to the singer’s accusations. He has been following the abusive claims since 2002 when Kelly’s sex tape with a 15 year old was leaked.

Shani Hilton (Buzzfeed’s vice president) didn’t say much when it came to the production of the documentary but she did speak upon her decision to pick up the story, “It just seemed obvious that we should be more in the show space. But we also really wanted to do things that felt premium and high level, and not just social video.”
