“Everyone in the country saw the Doritos Blaze Super Bowl commercial a few months ago,” said Busta. “Now I’m looking to pass the torch to the next generation of lyricists and give them a platform to showcase the fire they can spit.”

The twelve-time Grammy nominated artist joins forces with All Def Music and producer Terrace Martin, who has worked with Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott.

Together they create the first-ever hip-hop beat made from heat and spiced inspired items. (cooking torch, hot sauce, Doritos Blaze Chips, etc.) Peep the video above to see the genius of music production come to life.

Flipmode’s head honcho stepped onto the scene in the late 90s with his platinum-selling debut album, The Coming.

Due to his style and flare, he has taken the crown as Hip-Hop’s energizer battery. In 2012, he delivered a memorable verse on Chris Brown’s hit single, “Look At Me Now.”

Six years later, the verse was featured in the epic Super Bowl commercial, leading to Blaze the Beat.

The Blaze the Beat Competition continues Doritos’ long history in music and epic performance stages. “Our goal is for Blaze the Beat to open doors for Hip-Hop artists,” said VP of Marketing of Frito-Lay Rachel Ferdinando.

There is no better mentor for the program than Busta Rhymes. Starting today, fans can submit original bars over the Blaze Beat at www.doritosblazethebeat.com.

Following the closing of submissions on August 17, Busta and his team will choose five finalists to perform on the Doritos #BlazeStage at the 6th annual Life is Beautiful Music & Arts Festival pre-party in Las Vegas on September 20. The annual 3-day festival has attracted some of the biggest names in music. The Weekend, Travis Scott, Miguel and more are schedule to perform at this year’s festival.
