Less than a month since the release of Drake’s fifth studio album, Scorpion, he has trail-blazed his way into new record-breaking territories achieving 10 billion streams on Apple music and being the first featured artist to do so.

Contrary to reports that claimed Drake was missing out on over a half million dollars due to not making Scorpion available in the form of physical copies for purchase — 10 billion streams seems to be equal if not more profitable than the projected income of physical albums sales. In fact, Scorpion was eligible for platinum certification upon release with ‘God’s Plan’ achieving 7x platinum certification and ‘Nice For What’ achieving 3x platinum certification, all as singles before full album consideration.

Drake album sales seem to only get better with each album he drops with the last full-length album being 2016’s Views in which moved 1.04 million units in the first week.
