For the third consecutive week since its release, Drake’s new album, Scorpion, sits at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The record-breaking venture earned 260,000 comparable collection units, making it the first album since Adele’s, 25 from 2015 to pull in no less than 260,000 units in every one of its initial three weeks.
Not surprisingly, the greater part of Drake’s success is from streaming. 82 percent of Scorpion‘s aggregate was comprised of streaming units, while physical copies totaled 29,000. In its third week, the album piled up 290.4 million on-demand audio streams. This took after the biggest streaming opening week ever when Scorpion totaled 745.9 million on-demand streams in week one. Scorpion wasn’t released on CD until July 13, which some industry specialists say may have taken a toll him around a large portion of a million dollars in physical deals.
Coming in at No. 2 on the current week’s graph is Wiz Khalifa’s, Rolling Papers 2, with 80,000 total units. This is Khalifa’s fifth Top 10 album and ninth chart entry period. Rolling Papers 2 is the only album released a week ago to break the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.
Whatever remains of the current week’s best 5 is Post Malone’s, Beerbongs and Bentleys at No. 3 with 68,000 units, XXXTentacion’s, ?, at No. 4 with 45,000 units, and Cardi B’s, Invasion of Privacy at No. 5 with 44,000 units.
