Roseanne Barr feels Roseanne was dropped not on the grounds that she compared Valerie Jarrett to a gorilla, but since she voted in favor of Donald Trump.
“This was my statement from the very beginning and it will continue to be forever because it is the truth: When ABC called and asked me to explain my ‘egregious and unforgivable tweet,’ I told them, ‘I thought Valerie Jarrett was white.’ And I also said, ‘I am willing to go on ‘The View,’ ‘Jimmy Kimmel‘ or whatever other show you want me to go on and explain that to my audience,’” Barr, 65, stated in a video posted to her YouTube channel.
“Now instead what happened, about 40 minutes after that, my show was canceled before even one advertiser pulled out, and I was labeled a racist,” she fumed. “Why, you ask? Well, the answer is simple: Because I voted for Donald Trump, and that is not allowed in Hollywood.”
Barr clarified that she discharged her official articulation on her direct keeping in mind the end goal to talk “to [her] fellow and sister Americans without the filter of the biased media.” A week ago, Barr said her now-infamous tweet wasn’t bigot since she “thought the b**ch was white.”
Barr was beforehand self-reproachful for her tweet and pointed the finger at Ambien for her racially-charged remarks. “I begged Ben Sherwood at ABC 2 let me apologize & make amends. I begged them not to cancel the show,” Barr tweeted after the cancellation.
“I told them I was willing to do anything & asked 4 help in making things right. I’d worked doing publicity4 them 4free for weeks, traveling, thru bronchitis. I begged4 ppls jobs. … I also told Ben Sherman that I would go in hospital to check my meds, bc the stress had made them less effective.”
Barr likewise asserted that her tweet was against Semitism, expressing, “Rod Serling wrote ‘Planet of The Apes.’ It was about anti-semitism. That is what my tweet referred to – the anti semitism of the Iran deal. Low IQ ppl can think whatever they want.” She argued that her tweet was “insensitive” but “not racist.”
In the wake of dropping Roseanne, ABC declared a 10-scene Conner family spinoff without Barr’s association.
Barr says that she’s had work offers since Roseanne was dropped and furthermore asserted to have turned down press meetings to evade “untrustworthy” media predisposition, rather choosing self-meets alone YouTube channel.
