Last year in the NFL Playoffs, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs scored one of the most memorable touchdowns in history to knock off the New Orleans Saints and supplant his rising status as a household name. This summer Diggs efforts are being recognized with a contract extension that will keep him in Minnesota for the next six seasons.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Diggs will don the purple uniforms of the Vikings throughout the 2023 season. The extension of five-years to his current deal valued at $81 million, $40 million guaranteed. External sources state the extension will put Diggs in the range of $14 million per year.
Last season Diggs caught 64 passes for 849 yards with eight touchdowns. He also carries a high success rate of receptions at nearly 72%, marking him as the second highest in the NFL with 200 or more targeted passes.
Vikings giving WR Stefon Diggs a five-year extension with a total value of $81 million that includes just over $40 million in guaranteed money, per source. Diggs has not had a 100-catch nor 1000-yard season, but he has lots of ability.
