LeBron James is now a Laker and there are certain pockets of Los Angeles and NBA fans across the world that wouldn’t mind seeing Kobe Bryant lace up his Nikes one more time to join the King on the court. Rumors across the net seem to point out a possibility of the return of The Black Mamba, but his wife, Vanessa Bryant says the Mamba is gone for good.

Appearing on an Instagram Live session, Mrs. Bryant was in Mexico enjoying a vacation and shut down all talk of the numbers 8 or 24 coming out of the rafters.

“Kobe will not be coming out of retirement to play again,” Vanessa responded. “He doesn’t want to play again and frankly we really enjoy spending time together as a family without the crazy game schedule interfering with birthdays, holidays and special events.”

The most we will see of Kobe on the basketball court anytime soon is the occasional glimpse of his training sessions with Boston Celtics sophomore Brandon Tatum.
