In case you wanted an update on the relationship between Colin Kaepernick and the NFL, things got so serious that the former quarterback’s name was scrubbed from the Madden ’19 soundtrack that license YG’s “Big Bank,” featuring Big Sean, 2 Chainz, and Nicki Minaj.
Big Sean dragged the organization for censoring his lyrics and YG was reportedly unhappy as well. EA sports issued a statement apologizing for removing his name from the song as though it’s a curse word, and vowed to put it back in an update on August 6th.
It’s disappointing and appalling @NFL & @EA took @Kaepernick7’s name out of my verse on Big Bank for Madden 19, like it was a curse word. When he's not a curse, he's a gift! Nobody from my team approved any of this.

“Members of our team misunderstood the fact that while we don’t have rights to include Colin Kaepernick in the game, this doesn’t affect soundtracks,” the statement reads. “We messed up, and the edit should never have happened.” The track features a line where Big Sean gives a shoutout to Kaepernick: “Feed me to the wolves, now I lead the pack and shit. You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick.” Sean addressed the removal of Kaepernick’s name on Twitter, adding, “Nobody from my team approved any of this.”
JUST IN: EA Sports says it didn’t mean to omit Colin Kaepernick’s name in YG’s song it licensed for use in Madden ‘19. Will add his name back in update. pic.twitter.com/ck8UhxI1fu

Kaepernick is known to handle things in a very silent, but powerful way. He didn’t make any comments about the unfortunate situation. But he did thank Sean for riding with him.
Much love brother! Thank you for having my back!✊? https://t.co/yKz3nBMiPb
