Boxing legend Muhammad Ali sparred in many iconic bouts during his career, but none are more memorable than his run-ins with Sonny Liston. While many remember the iconic photo of Ali standing over Liston while saying “Get up and fight, sucker!” — a classic moment in sports history, might we add — it was the original match in 1964 that Canadian sportswear imprint Reigning Champ decided to honor for a commemorative capsule collection.
Utilizing Muhammad Ali’s born name, Cassius Clay, the set is a direct tribute to the February 25, 1964 Miami Beach matchup that saw Ali (then going by Cassius) defeat Liston after the latter boxer gave up in the beginning of the seventh round. The collection itself is comprised of hoodies, T-shirts, joggers, cut-off sweatshirts and shorts that show a print referencing the date of the fight. Select pieces also have a “CASSIUS CLAY” motif in bold white lettering, which also appears on a set of boxing robes that will really make you look like the fly, stinging and dearly missed G.O.A.T.
