Webbie sidestepped a prison sentence by working out a plea deal after allegedly beating and choking his girlfriend. TMZ reports a court clerk in East Baton Rouge said Webbie accepted a guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of simple battery. The plea deal will just give him one year of probation.

In addition to the one year of probation the Savage Life artist must serve, he will have to do 20 hours of community service and complete anger management courses. His girlfriend will receive $5,000 in restitution and Webbie will have to cough up an additional $500 in court fees.

Webbie was originally charged with three felonies last July: second-degree battery, false imprisonment and domestic abuse by strangulation. The charges stem from an incident that went down between the two in a hotel room.
