Many NBA fans knew it was coming, Carmelo Anthony has verbally agreed to sign with the Houston Rockets. Melo’s buyout with the Atlanta Hawks is complete and the superstar forward will take his talents to assist MVP James Harden and Chris Paul.
Shams Charania of Yahoo sports reports Anthony has alerted the team he will sign with the team after he finishes giving back to the South African community with a refurbished basketball court.
While Melo is joining the Rockets, the Western Conference powerhouse is missing a couple of key defensive pieces in Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute. The former member of the Thunder will bring in his 16 points making them a heavier load to handle on the offense.
The new Rocket will get a taste of his old team when they host they OKC Thunder on Christmas Day.
