Dave East is good across the state of California but he doesn’t need to visit Hollywood to see the Walk of Fame. All he has to do is look down at his legs. Covered in ink, his leg tattoos pay homage to his musical influences.

Inking their faces into his flesh, you can find some of Hip Hop’s elite on full display. East’s influences include the likes of Big Pun, The Notorious B.I.G., Aaliyah and Bob Marley. Even though they’re all resting in peace, their legacy lives on through East.

His personal curation of influences has served him well considering the Harlem native has been on the uptrend since 2014 after capturing the attention of Hip Hop greats like Nas.

After signing a collective deal with Esco’s Mass Appeal, Def Jam, and his Triangle Offense management company in 2016, East has gone on to churn out a myriad of solid street anthems. Most recently, he delivered his Karma 2 mixtape. Always hard at work, he is  taking suggestions for who to include in the upcoming video for the tape’s lead-off single “Nobu.”

With sharks on the plate for the main course, it doesn’t matter who chooses because Pun, B.I.G., Aaliyah and Bob Marley will be posthumously present in both ink and spirit.

Check out a few shots of the ink which East shared on his Instagram account and if you have any suggestions for who should get a seat at the table for his “Nobu” video shoot, feel free to chime in.
