This week the award winning and highly anticipated film, BlacKkKlansman, hits the big screen and everyone and their mamas are excited to see Spike smash the box office one more ‘gain.
The Source’s red carpet correspondent, Dante Ramos rocked out at the Brooklyn premiere of the movie and was able to get the cast and supporters at their most candid. Darlings like Tiffany Haddish, Bresha Webb came out for first look to see the film that so many are whispering “Oscar” about. Cast members are giddy with excitement to share their work. But the highlight of the carpet is when Ramos gets the real Ron Stallworth to show just how incredibly Hip-Hop he is by busting out his favorite N.W.A. verse, “Straight Out of Compton.”
Check out all that came out to celebrate this new film.
The movie BlacKkKlansman is based on the true story about a Black police officer named Ron Stallworth, who in the late 70s and early 80s, shut down the Colorado Springs chapter of the Klu Klux Klan. This Spike Lee directed and Jordan Peele produced biopic promises to make you laugh inappropriately, marvel at the looping current of history and intensely reflect on the current world around you.
This cinematic team comes together to create movie gold by mining the truest gem of a cast: John David Washington (Ron Stallworth), Corey Hawkins (Stokely Carmichael/ Kwame Ture), Laura Harrier (Patrice), muMs da Schemer, Harry Belafonte, Toper Grace (David Duke), the hilarious Ashlie Atkinson and even Alec Baldwin.
