Teyana Taylor experienced a wardrobe malfunction while performing in Washington D.C. last night (August 11). The Harlem native is currently on the Later That Night tour, with fellow Def Jam crooners Jeremih and DaniLeigh. During the live rendition of “Maybe,” Taylor’s curly wig was not fully secured. The wig then flew off her head. The “Rose In Harlem” singer made a great save by catching her wig before it could hit the floor. It resulted in being used as a new performance prop, waving the wig like a flag. The video was caught by a fan in the audience and later uploaded by @theshaderoom, during the show.

This is a testament to her professionalism as a performer. No matter what goes wrong, continue to put on a show for the audience. Her energy increased after the wig malfunction, and it worked out in her favor. The KTSE artist later acknowledged The Shaderoom for quickly uploading the video. “Oh my God, the Shaderoom aint waste no time,” she said.

The G.O.O.D. Music first lady is 4/4 on her current tour, with Atlanta, Norfolk, VA, Philly and the nation’s capital under her belt. Each show has sold out thus far, and they plan to keep the streak alive at the next stop. Teyana Taylor is coming home to perform tomorrow. The Later That Night Tour comes to Playstation Theatre, Monday, August 13. Get your tickets here if you haven’t already.
