We say “in jest” because, let’s face it, Will Smith has way too much money and clout to be doing a low quality, YouTube-esque unboxing video like this one. Complete with a watermark to promote his new IG sneakerhead alias @philasneakerguy68, the video shows off both “jump ready” iterations of the grape AJ5s, including a satin gold “friends and family” version reserved for 23 lucky fans that enter a really dope charity-driven experience provided by Omaze. The prize includes a chance to hang with Will and his family on his b’day, including bungee-jumping and free flight and hotel. As for the more general shoe, the laceless design doesn’t stray too far from the OG grape 5s that we all know and love, save for the insole graphic that turns the Air Jordan logo into a typeface synonymous with the green and pink graffiti-style logo used for the title of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
