Hail Killmonger: Black Panther’s Antagonist Set to Receive His Own Comic Miniseries Jason Cordner September 18, 2018 Hip Hop Art and Design | Urban Arts, Hip Hop Culture | Hip Hop Arts and Lifestyle, Hip Hop Entertainment | Hip Hop TV, Film and Video Games The breakout villain of Black Panther, Erik Killmonger, is returning to the Marvel Universe with a brand new Marvel Comics limited series. Killmonger is written by Bryan Edward Hill (What If? X-Men) with the first issue goes on sale December 5th. Green Arrow’s Juan Ferreyra will serve as the lead artist on the book, while Bryan Edward Hill will write it. In an interview with Vulture (published Sept. 17), Hill discussed how the Black Panther film inspired the upcoming series. “With Erik, I feel like it’s really a tragedy. It’s a story of a guy who was failed a lot by Wakanda in certain ways, by the people he met outside of Wakanda, by his own conscience in other ways, and I wanted to paint a portrait of that,” he said. We need more stories and tales about our own heroes and agnostics.
