Supreme had Hip-Hop heads in a frenzy yesterday when they previewed what appeared to be a new Liquid Swords collection in homage to the classic 1995 rap album, with Wu Tang Clan’s own GZA himself directly involved in the collab. While the tee will be in fact dropping this week, it’s actually part of a wider set of tees in tribute to the artwork of street artist Tabboo! and his eclectic style of animation.
Each shirt in the set incorporates a different feel from the artist’s perspective, whether it’s his musical side with an amazing paint-inspired graphic of Diana Ross and The Supremes (get it?), or the more wild style like the graffiti script motif seen in this small-yet-satisfying streetwear offering. The collection will also include hooded sweatshirts and a six-panel cap, so you’ll have a good portion to choose from if you get lucky online or have a plug at the Thursday line-up on Lafayette.
Look for all the GZA and Tabboo! tees in this collection to arrive online and in the NY, Brooklyn, LA, London and Paris locations beginning this Thursday (September 20), with Japan getting the release on Saturday (September 22). Get a full look below:
