In this very graphic footage of another unarmed Black man being shot by officers of the law, the results from the following footage have provided enough evidence for prosecutors to indict a former Mesquite, Texas police officer on aggravated assault charges in the shooting of Lyndo Jones.
The trial for Derrick Wiley is taking place approximately one week after the police killing of Botham Jean, who was killed by Officer Amber Guyger, whom she says she mistook Jean for a burglar after going into his apartment thinking it was her own. Guyger is facing manslaughter charges.
The Mesquite Police Department, as well as Wiley, are facing federal civil suits in the shooting.
