It’s been a while since the ever so legendary Cypress Hill (B-Real, Sen Dog, Eric Bobo, and DJ Muggs) released something as a whole unit, eight years to be exact. Those years are about to come to a halt, with their ninth studio album that is set to take the hip-hop world by storm this Friday.

Elephants On Acid is a twenty-one-track monster, with guest appearances from the likes of Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rage Against the Machine’s gifted guitarist Tom Morello (who also plays with B-Real in their group Prophets of Rage with Public Enemy’s Chuck D). The album is set to deliver a psychedelic trip into the world of rap music, using jazzy instruments, lead guitars and other instruments to set the mood for one hell of a ride! “Band of Gypsies” was the first taste of the album, with a video being released for the lead single early August. The video is set in Egypt and gives a good insight into what to expect.

Not only is Cypress Hill reviving themselves in the studio, but also on stage, as they plan to embark on a world tour this fall which includes dates in North America, South America, and Europe. Pre-orders for Elephants On Acid are available on iTunes as it nears its release. September 28, save the date!
