Billboard announced their first annual R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players celebratory event to be held this Thursday (Sept 27). This invite-only event is to honor and recognize the Top 100 artists and executives who are driving, influencing and guiding the industry in the R&B/Hip-Hop genres.
This year Billboard has decided to honor Meek Mill with it’s inaugural R&B/Hip-Hop power players impact award due to the strength he has demonstrated in the face of America’s criminal justice system, the attention he has brought towards America’s immediate need for justice reform especially for citizens who are not as privileged as him, and his creative contributions to music including 140 million total streams and five Top 10 releases on the Billboard 200’s album chart.
In addition to Meek Mill, Coack K and Pierre “Pee” Thomas, of Quality Control will also be honored amounts others.
