This history making song has recently tied with Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” to be the longest running #1 by a female artist in R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay in chart history.

Still on constant rotation on most radio stations (15 weeks at #1), there has not been another song from her catalogue with equatable success. Her new single ‘Trip’ hit the waves but did not pop like the first one.


Until, Jacquees did his remix. It popped in a major way and thus was removed from Spotify and YouTube, platforms that allowed the artist to monetize from a record that he did not originally write or produce. Super producer DJ Mustard, the brainchild behind Ella Mai’s success, addressed the business move on Twitter.

Jacquees answered this with one tweet, that in emoji language expressed what most fans are feeling across the board.
