When it comes to soul music, nobody delivers the funk quite like Anderson .Paak. As fans patiently await the arrival of his upcoming Oxnard EP, the multifaceted crooner decided to deliver a smooth cut from the project that features the Pulitzer Prize-winning MC himself, Kendrick Lamar.
With “Tints,” which premiered today as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1 Radio, we see .Paak and Lamar riding the wave of a melody that’s just pure good vibes from start to finish. The body-rocking single is the first official offering off the EP, after teasing us with “Bubblin’,” the Busta Rhymes-assisted remix and the FKA twigs-led Apple commercial jingle “‘Til It’s Over” earlier this year. There’s a lot of interest and buzz surrounding this project, both for the heavy involvement of Dr. Dre and the list of collaborators that, along with Kendrick, are set to include Pusha T, J. Cole and a few others.
Listen to Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar jam out on “Tints” in the official lyric video above, and stay tuned for more info on the Oxnard EP soon.
