The PUMA Hoops team is not playing. After they inked rookies across the NBA to big contracts, the sneaker brand has landed a sure-fire superstar in DeMarcus Cousins.
ESPN’s Nick DePaula reports that Boogie of the Golden State Warriors has signed a large deal with Puma. The number was not disclosed but it was detailed to be a “lucrative multi-year” offer. Cousins isn’t officially a member of Puma yet, much like the NBA, Nike will have the opportunity to match the offer, 10 days to be exact. If they choose not to match, Cousins will likely be the flagship athlete for the brand.
If Cousins does make the leap before the season starts he will join a roster that boasts Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, Rudy Gay, Michael Porter Jr., and Terry Rozier.
