Nike is a global company, catering to all creeds, colors, and nationalities to represent the many people who love their iconic sportswear brand. In celebration of all the Dominicans out there, the Swoosh is gearing up for the release of a special “De Lo Mío” Nike Air Force 1 to show love for the over 13 million people in the world who identify with the culture.
After what appeared to be a recent launch event in NYC’s Washington Heights neighborhood with several Dominican influencers, including brand influencer Ray Polanco Jr. (seen above), Orange Is the New Black actress Dascha Polanco, and the always hilarious Mero of Desus & Mero fame amongst others, the new AF1 colorway looks to be arriving soon. The shoe comes complete with a crisp white base, iridescent Swoosh, and laces in Dominican Flag colors and a translucent sole to show off the “De Lo Mío” wording on the inner sole — the saying translates to “One of My Own,” but can mean many things depending on the context. However, it’s always a positive term used to show pride in the DR culture.
Expect the Nike Air Force 1 “De Lo Mío” to drop this coming November through Nike SNKRS. We’ll definitely update you guys on pricing and official imagery as more info arrives.
